Ross Whitfield

rentaghost

Striker
17 year old. Massive double hundred last week. Playing for England Under 19s this week. 86 first innings 42 not out in the second. Looks tremendous - i would expect to see him involved next year.

Aye, i'm sure we're all sick of saying i by now but hopefully whitfield & mckinney can start to get appearances next season, whilst bushnell, mckintosh & doneathy (?) can start to be trusted as more regular members of the first XI mitigating the loss of dickson & eckersley

Don't forget Harry Crawshaw as well - he seemed to be next off the rank before an injury this Summer.

true yeah. partly forgetting about him as he's been out a while, partly it seems like these two have the momentum now but of course next season is some way off. no idea how much england u19s will play between now and next year, i imagine very little.

be interesting if any of them will be looking to get away to play a bit in australia over winter

Both Whitfield and McKinney look excellent prospects at 17yo. McKinney is also captaining England U19s this week which shows that they must rate him highly

Interesting watching Paul Nixon in the break and at the end. Chatted to spectators at the side of the wicket. He’s a people person. Unlike someone we could mention.
Sorry wrong thread.
