To be fair, in the modern era, 11 English players average over 40, while only 8 kiwis do. I can't find the breakdown country by country - but is NZ really that much easier for batters than England? I'd argue they're both pretty hard.Maybe not, if he'd played 50% of his tests here, doubt he'd be averaging 44s.
Had one T20 season for Durham and was class in that iirc.
