Very good career, averaging mid forties in tests. Like the majority of Kiwi's played the game in the right spirit unlike

Averages 44 in tests and almost 50 in ODI's. I think "solid" might be slightly harsh to be fair. He'd of walked into the England side during his career I reckon.

Always looked a walking wicket when he first comes to the crease but when he gets in he can score big. Very good player and I believe a top bloke.

To be fair, in the modern era, 11 English players average over 40, while only 8 kiwis do. I can't find the breakdown country by country - but is NZ really that much easier for batters than England? I'd argue they're both pretty hard.
