Altidore for Defoe gets my vote but aye we did play a blinder with Stewart to southampton
Really feel for the lad though. Had a weird career not getting discovered til relatively late on and then with the injuries
He’ll look back on his time at SAFC as the best days of his career for sure.
Scored at Wembley for us like so is in a group of 12(?) men we’d all chop both arms and legs off to be amongst

Devastating that like. Not just because he played for us, but because it’s a really talented lad seemingly having his career taken away from him.
The mention of tendons is worrying. I have some experience with tendon injuries and they’re a different kettle of fish to muscle strains or slight tears. Just hope he can get back on the pitch this season and make the most of the rest of his time there.

Stewart did very well for us when he was available but to get the amount of money that we did for him, given his injuries and contractual situation was good business in my opinion. I really hoped that he was over his injury problems and genuinely feel for him, he just cannot catch a break.

Really said for him he’s a terrific player when fit. But it’s brutal to keep rehabbing for less and less game time.
He missed less than 20 minutes our promotion season hardly played since.

Watched the game Sheffield utd v Southampton match the other day where he looked unplayable, scored two and was a right handful. Absolutely gutted for the lad

He’ll never play at a proper level for any length of time sadly. He’ll end-up in the lower Scottish leagues whence he came at too young an age

He was about 23 when we signed him, so not really a late bloomer, 25 when he had his breakout season for us, it's just been a while now.
