Ross Stewart

Scored with his left, scored with his right, scored with his head, scored poachers efforts, scored from outside the box, scored when he got in between defenders in the box, scored with near post runs, scored with back post runs, scored after he ran the channels, scored when he ran off the shoulder in behind.

He was mint wasn't he?
If he didn't get those injuries, he would have went on to score over 20 goals in that Mowbray season easily I think, and we'd have a much better chance of promotion that season. I would love to see him have a good season to prove those injuries haven't ruined his career.

Great for us but another one who thought the grass was greener.

Club has made some of these transfers decisions look a bit silly.

I’m sure if you thought the grass was greener at another company you would switch jobs too (for better money). Nothing wrong with it really
Thats all correct. Nothing against the bloke but same as Clarke, don't get why people do constant updates about how they're getting on.

We've far surpassed them now and they aren't our players and didn't want to be here. Thats fair enough and their decision, don't see why fans care so much about how they do.

Course he was. Doesn't change the fact that he wanted to go though and it bizarrely gets people angry if you don't care about ex players on here.

The only person seeming to get angry is you with that last comment

Personally a fit Ross Stewart probably gets double digits in the PL

However I doubt he'll ever have another injury free season like he did in League 1, which is a shame

All best to him, he was part of the Journey and like all those who got us out league 1 and the championship are Icons at the club, and should he invited back regularly

Just watched the highlights and from what they showed he looked really good on them.
Not just the goals, won the pen, headers saved, looked a threat.
Really pleased for him.
One step at a time but I wonder how Steve Clarke is getting on finding a solution to Scotland's striker problems...

Nothing sour at the end. yes, most were pleased by it, given the injury.

But there were some rumblings before that about him not signing a new contract.
Unsurprising..he knew he could get much bigger wages and a long contract. Why would this leave sour note?? If it were our sons or us of course we would want him to ensure his financial future. He was mid 20’s in the most insecure, fickle industry on planet.
Too many believe pulling on our shirt should exempt ‘employees’ from doing their best to look after themselves. It’s bewildering
We should brace ourselves because some of our current squad ( if they continue as they have started ) will no doubt leave more sour tastes in the collective gob come next July if not earlier.
Does anyone think Mbeumo or Wissa cares if they have left a sour taste behind at Brentford after they forced their transfers recently?
Yes it hurts but we would all do the same if opportunity arises

His winning goal is a beauty. So many great memories he provided for us. Hope he has a cracking season and scores 15+ goals. Must have gone through hell for two years
Nice post. He did the right thing with us. We got him for coppers, he scored a good few goals and gave us happy memories during an awful period
Love to see him get a real injury free run in the premier league

I love it when people click on a thread where it is obvious what the subject is just to say they don’t care what they are doing now or suggest that we should stop talking about them.

I find it absolutely bizarre that people are obsessed with former players especially where we’re are at the moment.

It’s all worked out for the best for us and Ross.
Imagine if he stayed and was fit and his goals had gotten us up that season under uncle Tony who was then charged with coaching a team of top players. As much as like the bloke I don’t think he would have been as tactically astute as what we currently have.
And Ross go5 his big move at the right time for him.
