Ross Stewart

I’m not advocating signing him, but hes played 385mins of Premier League football, coming off the back of a 18 month injury in a team that’s getting pumped every week. What are you expecting him to do.

Hes averaging 1 goal in every 3 appearances this season. Or 9 goals in 11 starts. Or one goal in every 121 minutes he’s on the pitch. He’s not doing bad.

As I said, I’m not saying we should sign him, but your comments seem a tad unfair given stats & circumstances
His minutes per goal stats are fantastic really. I think him and Simms had pretty much the best over the season for lads that played more than a handful of games. Simms was one every 125 minutes.

Might get a look in the Scotland squad now with Conway injured
There are no guarantees Conway would go anyway. A fit Ross Stewart is a lot more likely to get goals than the likes of Dykes and Che Adams and has all the defending from the front qualities Scotland need. If he doesn't go to the World Cup it will be down to some blind spot Steve Clarke has for actual goalscorers. Stewart, Bowie and McBurnie all seem destined to stay behind, all have more goals than Adams and Dykes who managed about half a dozen shots in the qualifiers. Hirst may travel to spectate.

Got to say like, Stewart did have his sticky patches of form that seems to get forgotten, but he influenced games loads more.

Simms last match might have been Wigan away. Scored a goal but by god he was dog shit. Weak, lethargic.

Dykes is truly awful. If he goes to the WC over Stewart, it’ll be laughable.

Clarke wants shooting if they don't take him.
You take your in form strikers
Rule no 1
Not even a discussion

Don't get the Ross Stewart love in.

Never have, never will.

Bang average striker, made out of Nik Naks imo.
He was pretty instrumental in getting us out of League One. Not sure if he was ever present or not, but we were lucky he had one of only two fully fit seasons as if he’d not have stayed fit we’d have not got promoted.

Disappointed that he decided to leave. We don’t know what he was offered, but essentially the grass wasn’t greener.

One I’d clap if he came back (at the right time)

Agree with all of that, apart from the disappointed when he left bit.

We got very good money for a bag of broken bones that will inevitabley break again regularly.

Was very happy with the sale personally.

Good enough to play premier league football pre injuries, maybe still could. By time we sold it was looking unlikely he’d play much at all so a great bit of business. Had he stayed we’d have got very little value from what would probably have been our biggest wage.
Great that he’s back playing semi regularly and doing well, hope he continues to do so.

Played major part in getting us out of league 1 scoring a fair few amd also defending and linking play great

Scored a flurry of goals in the championship like 9 in 11 or something amd then the injuries hit which will blight his career.

Comes across as a great lad and helped us amd we made great ones on him.amd he got the wage rise to secure himself . Win win amd will always be held in high regard by me. I wouldnt have him now as weve moved on but always reebered fondly by me for what he did to help us

Aye. I think it was a good deal for an injured player, even better in hindsight. However, I’d have preferred a fully fit Ross Stewart stopping. In truth, that wasn’t an option
