Rory Burns

He's very average but there is literally no one to replace him.

The idea of giving someone a run in the team is they improve eventually, but these England batsman stall and then go backwards 🤔

I think it might be time to convert someone to an opener because so many openers have failed when presented with the chance that we must be running out of options.

Malan? He's basically an opener anyway given these two are struggling to see off 2 overs of the new ball

His tecnhique is so awful that I don't think he knows where to start with a rebuild.

Then there's his confidence which is shot by low scores and dropped catches.

Get rid

May as well. Malan has a presence about him at the crease which helps. Can be explosive, can dig in. I think Ollie Pope has the talent to bat higher up too but obviously too risky to experiment in this series.

Root used to open, not much different to what he's doing now
Just as well Vaughan isn't there or we'd get to hear James Vince being championed for a return
I'd back both of them to score more runs than our openers

Listening to TMS this morning and apparently he is the 2nd highest run scorer for us in the calendar year.

I must be 3rd. Horrendous batsman (him and me).
