Romain Mundle

Good pedigree all round, looking forward to seeing how this lad progresses next season.

I think we find ourselves in a bit of limbo, he and a few others need games to progress but they're not really at a promotion hunting standard, at least for a season.

If that's what the club are doing, then fair enough but you have to play them and make sure everyone understands the intention. As it stands, it just feels very fragmented.

They've all had a taste of what it's like here now, all of them heading into their second season (ok Mundle and Hjelde were signed January so only been here a few months), having their holidays, time to reflect, they've got to start stepping up to the mark now, i just feel Mundle has a lot about him.

Idd with his potential but the bit about a taste, so had jewi, ba and co. If were not going to commit to development, its silly signing a development squad.

I'm more than happy to develop players, just not for aspects of the club to work against one another.

Showed very little and struggled to get into a side that was piss poor at best.

Looked like he's got a hell of a lot to learn in my opinion.

Suppose it depends on what is higher on the clubs list of priorities. A team fit for a promotion/playoff challenge or plodding along in the Championship, blooding kids in to make a few quid on.

I'd suggest that was a short term pessimistic interpretation. Had the club concentrated on developed properly last season we would be in with a better opportunity next.

Either way, we have the same budget.

Definitely has some natural ability. Doesn't look good enough or street wise enough to use it at this level, yet.

He may or may not come good but he's definitely not ready to be pushing his way into even a midtable championship side.

He’s going in the same (optimistic) bracket as a few players we watched last year. Him, Aouchiche, Bellingham, Pembele, Seelt, Ekwah, probably Ba.

They’ve all got between 6 months & a year at the club now with varying minutes on the pitch. Hoping we’ll see one or two kick on a bit, no doubt there’ll be those that don’t too.

I always just remember Trai Hume. Rarely on the pitch in the play off season. Start of the championship year wasn’t looking like doing something. Then he got his chance & stepped up.

Glass half full, but I’m hoping the “pain” we’ve been through this year might end up seeing a benefit later on.

Good post, these lads imo need lads to learn off as well. Getting experience in to help them is a must. It has to happen
