I think I’ve already said it but I agree with her. Sunderland is the city centre. Everywhere wise is just near it.

Rubbish, the Borough of Sunderland covers a large area. People abbreviate it to Sunderland if they're talking about an area within it's boundaries.. I'm more likely to be specific if I was actually going into the town/city centre.

I don’t see why they let it bother them.
To me this is like when Newcastle say Tynemouth beach is Newcastle. It’s not same as roker beach isn’t Sunderland. All the places that aren’t the city centre are their own places. Hendon, seaburn, Ryhope etc.
I imagine there’s examples of this all over the UK that get people’s knickers in a twist.

Sorry it’s not the same at all-Tynemouth(and it’s beach) is in the borough of North Tyneside not Newcastle so they can’t claim it.

Dont why it seems so difficult, its Roker, Sunderland and Seaburn, Sunderland. They are not near or next to Sunderland they are in Sunderland, the same way as all of the other estates are. Now if they said near Sunderland City Centre then you can't argue but these clowns are saying it as if it isn't Sunderland.
