Roker near Sunderland

Yep

If I’m going out in Sunderland I’m in City centre. If I’m going out in seaburn / roker / seaham etc that’s where I am not Sunderland.
That's because we live here and talk in parts of " Sunderland "
Everyone always said going to the Town for drinking . We all still live in Sunderland . Grangetown and Herrington arent near Sunderland

Boring contrarian again.

By that logic then you wouldn't say you 'live in Sunderland' then or if you were visiting roker, you wouldn't say you were in Sunderland? Load of shite.

I live in roker. I was born in Sunderland.

Herrington, Grangetown are their own places. It’s like Washington, It’s not Sunderland.

People I know in seaham say they’re going to Sunderland they go to city. Not roker or seaburn. There I’m going out in seaburn etc. Sunderland is the city centre. The rest is all near.

Your street is it's own place too . It's like when you write and address on a letter
Non of the places you're quoting are NEAR Sunderland ,which is the only gripe people have with that lasses post .

I don’t see why they let it bother them.
To me this is like when Newcastle say Tynemouth beach is Newcastle. It’s not same as roker beach isn’t Sunderland. All the places that aren’t the city centre are their own places. Hendon, seaburn, Ryhope etc.
I imagine there’s examples of this all over the UK that get people’s knickers in a twist.

Utter nonsense.

Don't you always talk about 'my side' and 'south side' of Sunderland? How can Sunderland have a south side and not call it by their names like Ashbrooke, Herrington, Pennywell then?

Controversial for the sake of it.

I live north of the wear. The other side is south of the wear. So the northside and the southside.

Your points about places being places are correct but they all are in Sunderland
It's nowt to do with being bothered ,it's just facts . If you think you are coming from out of Sunderland into Sunderland when you go from roker to Sunniside you have the geographical awareness of a house wife from York .

So next time I travel up for the match do I tell people I’m going up to Monkwearmouth for the match?

Aye. That is where we play now after being at Hendon, Ashbroke, fulwell, roker, monkwearmouth, roker again and then back to monkwearmouth. Not once been in Sunderland.

pointless going back and forth with a complete troll.
Untwist ya knickers man. You know I’m right. It’s the north and south banks of the river wear.

Roker and Seaburn are Sunderland.
If you're drinking there you're drinking in Sunderland.
Nah drinking in roker or seaburn. If I was drinking In Sunderland I’d have crossed the bridge into Sunderland and went in one of the pubs there, unless I headed down Hendon or east end for a pint then I’m not in Sunderland again.

Best just bloke him like I have
Oh no someone has a difference of opinion to me. Best block them. Change ya tampon man.
