Roker near Sunderland

Beautiful Britain Facebook at it again 🤣

Admin on tour……
We stayed on a rally in Seaburn near Sunderland, Tyne and Wear over the bank holiday weekend, please check the group search for pub stopovers in the area?
If you used a pub stopover recently please share a review, make sure you include the key details listed in the group rules though???

They've been corrected but the replies have been deleted and she's left the post as it is and now put

Right folks, I've given the location to help others and I'm sure people can look it up so let's leave it there now!

So the admin that constantly goes on about people giving the correct location etc has ignored the people correcting her .

So from now on anything in a certain town or city will be near it instead 🤣

What a fool. What makes her think it's not in Sunderland? Obviously didn't take simple Geography when (or if) she went to school.

Arsehole.

She replied saying Seaburn is a suburb of Sunderland and is a resort in its own right she deleted our comments

Wait until keel square, vaux, sheepfolds etc is all complete they'll be claiming that as Newcastle or part of Newcastle, near Newcastle.

A woman who used to work with us, she's from Northampton but married to a mag and i was talking to them both at a work celebration party and she said in conversation she's been to the the seafront in the northeast a few times to Newcastle in Tynemouth and South Shields.

I said you should visit Roker and Seaburn beaches. She showed me a photo of her at South shields and in the photo she was at Roker Pier. I said that's Sunderland. Her husband argued its part of South Shields and part of Tyneside like Whitburn is too. Sunderland is south of the river Wear. I laughed and said the Stadium of light is on the north of the river and then explained Seaburn and Roker beach is in the city of Sunderland Wearside, he wasn't having it and wasnt on a wind up, it got brought up again a bit later so I got angry and swore and offered him outside. It shouldn't but it winds me up because it happens alot.

Now that's what I call "Thick as mince." It displays an ignorance which the chap should be truly ashamed of but of course because he is genuinely thick he will remain totally unaware of what an absolute fool he is . :D

You should have asked him why they call Newcastle "Newcastle" when most of the city was never within the castle.

Thick Mag who knars nowt about geography, clearly has literacy issues too.
Obviously cant read the City of Sunderland signs he passed to get to Roker from whichever direction he came from. Or maybe we need to have new flashing lights announcing you are passing the boundary.

I had my sister in laws husband telling me his father is from newcastle. I asked which part of newcastle and he said Chester-le-street. I told him Chester-le-street is on Wearside, just outside Sunderland and he insisted it was tyneside.
Obviously learned about the geography of the North East from Roger Whittaker :D

You can only laugh at the truly ignorant there's no point in trying to educate them.

Honestly  , that made me laugh much more than it should.

In my opinion (worthless, I know), the creation of Tyne and Wear has caused many of these type of problems. The fact that Tyne was put before Wear, either alphabetically or because it trips off the tongue more easily, has helped instil a feeling of superiority in a lot of the more stupid denizens of Tyneside.

I can remember my Dad telling us of an argument he was having at work with a Gateshead lad who insisted that Gateshead had always historically been linked to Newcastle and, was effectively part of that blighted land. My Dad told him that Gateshead used to be in County Durham, along with Sunderland, and most other places south of the Tyne. Lies, according to the deluded Gateshead-wallah. Dad dug out an old A-Z from the '60s/'70s (I think - might have been earlier) which clearly showed Gateshead as being in County Durham.

The Gateshead bloke still wouldn't believe it, saying that my Dad had had the A-Z specially made up, just to try and win the argument.

They're f@cking deluded, man, the lot of them. Deluded.

Its just pure ignorance and needs to be called out and corrected. It all plays into a bias against our city. Actually its quite sinister
I'm sure these groups from outside the area mean nowt by it but it still pisses me off. Its like everything good is only 'near' Sunderland.

A lot of them do this because 'its easier and people will know about Newcastle '. I mean a lad I used to gan to festivals with about 20 years ago was telling people we were from 'Newcastle' for this reason🤣, this was probably due to the fact he was a nufc 'supporting' mackem like but that's for another day

That big cricket ground in CLS is called the Riverside because it's beside the river Wear.

Have a screenshot of Google Maps handy at all times. I like how it shows the coast, the airport, the angel etc outside of Newcastle
