Rocky Flintoff

I don't have any opinion either way on them. They seem to live rent free in some regulars heads though.

Did Mark Butcher, Simon Jones, Ryan Sidebottom and Alex Stewart ever all play in the same match?

interesting bit of trivia. I'd ask chatgpt but it's fucked atm

I dont think all four did,not sure Jones played in Sidebottom's first spell for England?

Sidebottom only played the 1 game before 2007. Only Stewart was in the side.

Vaughan the only other player in the 2001 side still involved for England by 2007.

Edit I didn't check his ODI's

Few others he played with in both 2001 and 2007 onwards. Shah,Colly,Flintoff and Hoggard

Just scored a century for the Lions!!!

Some on this forum have defs written him off ridiculously soon
Written off is s bit harsh mate. He's a talent for sure, just hope they blood him correctly. We need to nurture all our talent. No matter the origin of said talent, whether it be nepotism or elsewhere, doesn’t really matter. Cricket isn't the hill that battle takes place on. All in my opinion. We need to look to NZ for continuing the tradition of producing banging sportsman for a little island nation.

It's funny you should say that about NZ. There's a keeper batsman who might just be heading our way

Why I'm laughing at your post, the first part of your post is fair.

Have people written him off? I suppose there is some caution over the fact he's on a Lions Tour having done very little at County level. There is a fine line between spotting/promoting talent and being accused of nepotism.
Having said that, he's struck the 1st blow to the doubters and I hope he continues in the same vein. Hope young Vaughan does the same when captaining the u19s

Was people saying he'd been over promoted etc off the back of his performances in the summer and after the first few tour games.

So writing off is the wrong use of words, doubts of whether he was/is ready for the level he's been playing at.

I just think over the past however many months he's been under a microscope unfairly seeing as he's 16 maybe not just on here but wider cricketing world.

Obviously Lancs/England will feel somewhat vindicated now for the faith put in him.

He probably wasn't ready in the summer but it's allowed him to learn in the deep end. Instead of playing largely seconds cricket which isn't (at times) a very good standard to develop.

Nepotism cos of who is dad is may well be the case. But if it ends up working then who really cares about how it happens.

Jonny Bairstow and Stuart Broad played in the same team many times, obviously

I confused the shit out of chatGPT trying to get an answer. The most sons of test cricketers that played for England in one match appears to be just two, despite there being several around at the same time.

Lions is essentially the B team right? Don't remember a 16 year old ever playing at that level.
Definitely the youngest to hit a ton for Lions. Beat the coach by over 3 years. So strong chance he is the youngest to play, certainly be one of the youngest I’d have thought.

Never seen it. Can you be more specific?

Did Bots exist in August 2010?

If you were created as a organic robot slave. How would you know you were one? Without appealing to a authority how would you know that you live in a cage that you could never escape from? Unless you die of course.

Far too early to judge. The important thing is to distance him from his father.

Getting into the team at 16 is quite an achievement but he's not going to be the finished article.for some time.
Atherton's had the right idea. His boy plays with his mam's maiden name doesn't he?

You've never seen Blade Runner? Or it's sequel?

Ha'way man, get them watched. Seminal mate.

That's a bit deep mate. You've definitely seen Blade Runner!
