"Some of our passing was great and we showed great bravery " : Parky
Passing the buck maybe? We lack bravery in all departments of the club at present sadly.
Don't you dare. Don't you f***ing well dare. Not now. Not ever.

What a warped and twisted mind you must have to think I, as a Sunderland supporter, am proud of THAT. Gut wrenching does not come close. Sickening does not come close.
Guessing you werent keen then? ;)

Slipping down the table. Points gap is widening on the top two positions. We needed a good start could have been second with a win v Portsmouth. It’s all starting to sound like the last two seasons, bottling the big games when we could be pushing on. Parkinson has no ambition just like a lot of the squad who are at the end of their careers. It doesn’t really matter if we don’t get out of this division because if we do I’ll probably be peddled is tha attitude of Parkinson and a lot of the players.

The last sentence sums the team up exactly .
Makes you wonder what they get up to when training ?
Do they discuss A)their latest investments B)The new motor C) Which 2nd division team they would like to play for next season.
Because it's perfectly clear they don't f***ing train or talk tactics etc .

You always get fans of 'bigger' clubs showing that kind of arrogance in their first season down at this level, but this is your third season here now and judging by your performance last night it won't be your last. Maybe it's time to show a bit more respect to the 'pub teams' you can't beat every week.
Firstly i'd say all of the 92 league and prem sides occupy their own special place in the pryamid. Rochdale are a small club but with history. SAFC however, with a recent decade in the top flight, 2 FA cuo wins 6 top league titles, team of all tallents, bank of england team. Produced the England keeper and midfielder who should imo be captain. Team that gets average of over 30,000 and almost sold out 49,000 in the third tier of enhglish football.

In no way are the 2 clubs comparable. Rochdale are in the highest poistion they'll likely ever be in as I doubt that without a sugar daddy they'll read even the championship. We on the other hand are experiencing the worst seaosn in nearly 150 years of history, coming on the back or 2 years wher the same could be said. We have had terrible owners making the worst possible decisions for our once great club. We should never have been in thi league and should have easily gotten promoted with the resources at hand. We're all furious with our owners for the predicament we're in. It's not a slight at Rochdale you have to fight to beat any side on the pitch but we shouldn't be playing them and when we do should never see what we did last night. That was amongest the worst results in neartearly 150 years. For dale maybe one of their better moments.

Rocket science.

Dobson cannot pass. Leadbitter on bench?
Rochdale have one up front. We 3 centre halves?
Grigg a proven goal scorer. Do you bring him on?
Mcgeady the best player in the league. Etc etc.

But what do we fans know about rocket science. PP will show us the way...
What shocked me was looking at McLaughlin and Sandersons positioning last night. McLaughlin received the ball in some excellent positions last night and played decent enough overall but doesn't have the quality to really hurt teams from an advanced position.
Sanderson looked really good on the ball and the few times he found himself in an advanced position looked much more dangerous.

It looked really obvious to me but why not switch Sanderson to the more advanced position? Does PP see these options or is he just too stubborn to make changes?

Too right! That performance was one the most embarrassing I have ever seen from a team in Sunderland shirts. We failed to break down a side near the bottom of the table because we were not good enough to even beat such a side. I cannot imagine things getting much worse in a game as failing to beat a side close to the bottom. It isn't so bad if it is a good team. But come on marra, this was ROCHDALE! We hit shot after shot but not one went in even against a team that is not a great one because our ability to take a shot is so poor.

I honestly reckon he intended to play McLaughlin out wide with Willis in the 3 but was caught on the hop by Willis being unfit. Problem is, his brain would have thrown a fatal exception if he'd had to conceive of the idea of reforming his plan.

I agree with pretty much everything in your post. The thing is, at no point did I or would I ever argue Dale are in any way comparable to Sunderland. I lived in Sunderland for a few years and I understand exactly how big a club Sunderland is - and I've supported Dale all my life so I understand we are nowhere near that level and never will be, I don't need telling that. Nor however, are we "a pub team", as we showed the other night.

For what it's worth the only part I really disagree with is your suggestion that a draw with a team in the same league as us is one of the better moments in our history. In the last few years alone we've managed draws with current Premier League clubs like Tottenham and Newcastle, taken Man Utd to penalties, beaten the likes of Leeds, Forest, Saints and both Sheffield clubs. Tuesday night was a great point for us - but nothing beyond that really.

I expect living in Sunderland for a few years you duelly went along to the match and suffered like the rest of us unless we were playing the filth.

Went quite a few times when I wasn't heading home to watch Dale, saw some crackers including a win over Blackburn in Martin O'Neill's first game in charge and an FA Cup win over Arsenal where Sessegnon briefly turned into peak Pele. Was also in the South Stand pointing and laughing at some United supporting mates on the day that City won the title with the Aguero goal.

I’m at the point now where I’m quite happy not to have to go to the games.

I didn’t even know we had a game tonight until I heard about it on total sport last night when out in car, its so unlike me, made me realise the apathy has well and truly set in.
I was the same. Completely forgot about it until I'd refreshed Twitter and seen the lineup. Checked when we were 1-0 then when it was 2-2.

He's persisted with Wyke up front on his own and that has got us goal or so, credit to him. We seem toi be operating in very fine margins, such is the weakness of the team.

Prior to Portsmuff we kept clean sheets.

Now we've conceeded 5 goals in two games. Scored 3.

Where exactly do we go from here?
