Seriously, what on f***ing gods earth is this? May as well put football manager up as its also based on scouting of various forms.

Are we really assessing players now based on stats that don't take many things into consideration and then using them in this manner?

I don't think there's too many keepers coming on from foreign leagues and immediately are comfortable coming out claiming crosses, its not really something the modern keeper does regularly either. I'd be taking that with a pinch of salt until I saw it regularly.

TBF its a small part of a very comprehensive picture. Each of the main scouting platforms are £3k+ per year, per licence.
 
Bit late to the party but am I to believe this lad’s class at defending crosses and set pieces? That seems very smart scouting to me with how much Prem teams are focusing on corners and long throws atm.

Well premier league teams must average around 7 corners a game at least. I get your point though with inverted wingers and wingers more likely to pull it back than float one in
 
Don't think there was anything he could do with the goal and didn't have a save to make outside of that so difficult to judge I suppose, but he seemed very assured with the ball at his feet and made one good claim from a cross.

It takes very little account of what's going on in the game and the cistucmstances though. Fair enough it can build a picture, but it's far from comprehensive and never could be and would never be used without various things behind it including context.

Plus like you say - the main scouting platforms are 3k+ per year for a reason.

Trying to base your opinion accross solely by using this is stupidity.

Kinda the point I was putting accross. It's an excellent tool to use (when in more depth) but context has to be applied to situations and also quality and levels have to somehow be judged. In this instance though it was being used to judge on its own.

Well that and also the physicality and tactics/depth used at higher levels with set pieces and focusing on potential weakness. It's all marginal gains and as the levels go up so does the focus on gaining an advantage. In that respect I'd say the Dutch league with its focus on technical ability is probably a different animal to even the championship.
