Roberto De Zerbi joins Spurs

Aye, fair enough, but my gut feeling is they'll just scrap through..
Agree. Leeds already have 4 pts (+goal difference) over West Ham. A home game against Burnley should be a win, home to Wolves tougher but a fair chance of one. And can see them grinding out a draw here and there. It's Spurs v West Ham v Forest imo.

Every managerial job he has had he left the club in a better state than he found it in Italy, England and France
He had an excellent CV as a player and he has his teams playing attractive organised attacking football
Be ideal for spurs
Hmm. It’s all opinions I suppose, but that’s literally the exact opposite of what the 5-Live European football expert said this evening. He was never a top player - played for 15 clubs, never for more than a ‘handful’ of games per season and mostly outside of Serie A. Whilst he's been head coach / manager at 7 clubs in 10 years and has a track record of walking away as soon as the going gets tough. Having somebody in charge who said no a few weeks ago, has been swayed by more money, and has asked for a huge bonus if he keeps them up and a release clause if they go down. I wouldn’t be too happy if I was a Spurs fan.

Don’t really know a huge amount about but a lot of the journos highlighting that his approach/methods need time, plays with a back 3 and likes to play the ball out from the back…….neither strike me as being great for spurs at the minute.

That said I’m sure we’ll be generous 😉🤣
Won 2 , drew 2 lost 3 in his first 7 games for Brighton. That form could send spurs down.
Every spurs fan I’ve heard in the radio reckons they only need two wins to stay up

Feels a bit light to me

Over the past 7 seasons (all I had time to look at), there have been 14 teams who [after 31 games] have been within 5 points of 4th bottom (either above or below) - i.e. have a 'realistic' chance of going down - and have had less than 33 points. This is effectively where all of Leeds, Forest, Spurs, and West Ham sit.

The average points over their last 7 games has been 8.2, with 4 clubs getting 10 or more points. So looking at that, there is a strong chance that 8 points for Spurs won't be enough. On the flip side 6 of the 14 have got 1ppg or less from their final 8 games.

Statistically speaking one of the clubs will get about 5 points, one will get 7-8 points, one will get 8-9 points, and one will get 11-12 points. 8 points for Spurs will only be good enough if it's not West Ham who get 11-12 points, or if it's Forest who get about 5 points.

One thing that Tudor's 5 games in charge has done is shift Spurs GD from -1 to -10, which means that they no longer have that advantage over Leeds & Forest. I think that a lot depends on whether any new manager can get them back to proper defending - since playing us they have conceded 28 goals in 12 games against PL teams (only Liverpool in that time didn't score 2 against them). That's a big drop off from conceding 24 goals in their first 20 PL games.

It's a funny season. At one point it looked like 36 points would be enough for safety. Now it's much more competitive. I'm just glad we're out of it!
