Rest of the games in our group are played today starting at 2pm. We need one of these three things to happen to make the quarters;

Warwickshire to beat Notts
Surrey to beat Somerset
Somerset to beat Surrey narrowly and fail to overturn our run rate advantage

The other two games are of no interest to us as they cannot affect our final position.

Hopefully we can get through to give us a chance of salvaging something from this car crash of a season.

Somerset have put Surrey in and Warwickshire have elected to bat.

Surrey 190 -4 off 36 and Warwickshire 179 - 2 off 36.

Could do with Surrey getting a shift on and setting Somerset a stiff target as they will need to knock them off early to over turn our run rate.

Reckon Surrey will get 290 max. No idea what that'd mean in terms of overs for Somerset

Surrey finished on 284 for 9 after 50.

Somerset need 285 to win at 5.7 an over but must get them before the second ball of the 43rd over to over turn the run rate, so their actual run rate is 6.76 if my maths are correct.

Warwickshire posted a respectable 302.

Competitive scores in the games that interest us.

Sussex scored 323-3 from 48 overs. Another century for Luke Wright who seems in good nick as per usual until he plays for England. A 19 year old called Harry Finch scored 92* from 58 balls. Only his 6th t20 game, apparently made his first and only first class appearance against Durham last season, must have been a canny knock.

Nice to see Trott bring up another hundred too.

So Somerset have to win by 43.2 overs??

Lumb out at Trent Bridge.

Surrey bowling like wankers.

At the Oval - Match Delayed by Floodlight Failure :eek:
