Instead we've had a cracking season on the whole, and the media have been unanimous in their praise for how well we've acquitted ourselves on and off the pitch.

The problem is people forget that we only wanted "survival" but here we are, we had a few good results early in the season and people got carried away and had us in Europe.

Europe is a still a possibility but do we really want that at this stage? Look at Forest and dare I say it, the unwashed from up the road. Both squads aren't strong enough to play twice a week and they're struggling!

Always the case though that attackers are valued more than defenders.

Of the defensive recruitment, they were more experienced players (Mukiele/Alderete/Reinildo) who were obviously targeted to give us that base, we did not sign any younger players to develop in that area. Whereas I think we took a gamble on the attacking players, hoping/still hoping they turn into good players. This summer we have to target two proven attackers in my opinion.
