I watched it and it's a really good watch tbh. He is in good spirits and wouldn't think there was out wrong, going by that. You must be logged on to see media items
Haven't made a start on this yet but was only recorded a few days before his death and going off what Barker has said he seemed to be in really good spirits. Just shows that you never know what goes on behind closed doors and if anyone is feeling low to the point of being suicidal then please speak to someone.![]()
He only found out when he took Frank Warren to court over missing moneys and then it came to light that there wasn't any and his dad had been moving it.A bit of both imo. With him having Campbell quite young I think they wanted to ensure he didn't drink all his money away and kept some to support Campbell growing up. But he's a grown man and you can't just lie to him, tell him he earned less than what he did and take his money off him. I didn't like how his parents were in the papers all the time during the fall out playing the victims - 'our son won't speak to us', 'we can't even watch our grandkids grow up' etc. All whilst Hatton was at his lowest and had been in the press for the wrong reasons, knowing the public would likely think he'd gone off the rails and was behaving irrationally towards them. Don't air the dirty laundry in public, it's dodgepot behaviour.
Was when Billy Graham took him to court over missing money but aye, it's terrible. His dad encouraged him to leave Billy Graham, Billy alleged he'd been underpaid, Hatton couldn't understand it as he was due X percent of his earnings and had paid him that but he'd actually earned more than he thought, his dad had just been creaming some off the top and squirrelling it off to a seperate account without telling him.I watched it and it's a really good watch tbh. He is in good spirits and wouldn't think there was out wrong, going by that.
But it is often the case ain't it. People who commit suicide sometimes are able to let go of all the hurt in their last few days knowing it's not going to be with them anymore. I've heard many a time people say 'they looked so happy and you wouldn't know this was going to happen.'
Super sad case and something to remind people that it can get to anyone. I do think things have improved with the amount of help there is out there but there's still a way to go.

Imagine finding that out in court when he's sitting next to you and meant to be onside. Why did he even let it go that far, surely he must have known they were going to go through all the figures.
People are mental.
Yeah that's right. Was when Billy Graham took him to court over missing money but aye, it's terrible. I hadn't realised they'd fell out again after the documentary came out. His mam was in the paper saying how he'd rang his dad inviting him to go to the City match and his dad said "We're on holiday but I wouldn't go with you anyway after what you said in the documentary". They couldn't understand why Hatton stopped speaking to them after that and wrote a letter to the Mail or one of the tabloids criticising him for bring stress on his poor dad. They come across as awful people.
heard that not long after it happened , surprised not been in media If true , this day n age never know if bullshit rumours ... or notSomeone just said he hung himself, not sure how true it is
There was rumours immediately and people saying they could confirm it but think people mostly wanted to show a little respect and wait for something official before commenting.heard that not long after it happened , surprised not been in media If true , this day n age never know if bullshit rumours ... or not
I absolutely hate Smith on commentary but he seems like a genuinely nice fella and is much better as a lead pundit so not surprising he was able to give a good eulogy. Just been through a lot himself so I'm sure it him home twice fold. The Adam Smith eulogy is beautiful. Always been one of my favourite commentators and he’s gone up in my estimation even more.
As for Ricky’s parents, if they’ve fallen out again after the documentary, then that shows their true colours IMO.
Fair enough, don’t know how anyone can’t like his commentary though. Such a knowledgable and passionate bloke about the sport. There was rumours immediately and people saying they could confirm it but think people mostly wanted to show a little respect and wait for something official before commenting.

He just talks for the sake of it at times and he's also massively bias. He does have knowledge and is passionate but he just gets on my nerves.Fair enough, don’t know how anyone can’t like his commentary though. Such a knowledgable and passionate bloke about the sport.
I love it, real passion and energy. Throws some great bits of history in anarl, be it the actual fighter or linked to the fight.Fair enough, don’t know how anyone can’t like his commentary though. Such a knowledgable and passionate bloke about the sport.
Incredible but so so sad manIncredible words from Adam Smith...

Had bad memory loss also leading up to his death according to his familySad stuff. CTE could have contributed which is quite damming of the sport.
Death by hanging but not satisfied he intended to take his own life? How does thst workSenior coroner Alison Mutch has returned a narrative verdict.
Ricky Hatton's medical cause of death was hanging. She said she was not satisfied that he intended to take his own life.
Having looked at all the evidence, there was no note, he was under the influence of alcohol and there was microscopic evidence of CTE.
Means family can claim the life insurance i believe its common for coroner to lean on side of not intended where possibleDeath by hanging but not satisfied he intended to take his own life? How does thst work
In contrast to some other verdict, suicide is to the criminal standard of proof i.e. beyond reasonable doubt.Death by hanging but not satisfied he intended to take his own life? How does thst work
I think most life insurance policies cover suicide these days, usually with an exemption for a set amount of time after the policy is taken out.Means family can claim the life insurance i believe its common for coroner to lean on side of not intended where possible
does that mean that if you were (and I'm not!) thinking about taking your own life that you shouldnt leave a note if you want your loved ones to get life insurance??Means family can claim the life insurance i believe its common for coroner to lean on side of not intended where possible
Yesdoes that mean that if you were (and I'm not!) thinking about taking your own life that you shouldnt leave a note if you want your loved ones to get life insurance??
