I have come across a couple of Morcambe and Wise tribute programmes in the last week or so. It turns out that the 21st March marked 25 years since Ernie Wise died.There was even a dramatised play on about how they stared their career which included how Eric met Joan.

Saw a headstone in Mere Knolls for a woman who died 60 years after her husband. Said he was killed in 1916 so hazarding a guess he was killed in WWI.

I reckon that was probably common for relationships in WW1. My Dads auntie died around 1970, her fiancé had died in WW1 and she never married.
