Sad to learn of Davy's recent passing. He umpired for many a year around Tyneside and Durham. Great guy, friend of many and never without a tale to tell. Rest easy Big Fella.
 

Very nice feller and the kind that would have been well happy with that as as epitaph.

An absolute fine friend who left umpiring far too early ..... he was a mentor to me in my early days always offering very sound advice and it was always a pleasure to stand with him
