Rightmove Voyeurism

Walthamstow is where my young 'un and her fella are looking. Apparently it's on the up.
Anywhere that had anyone from East 17 in it is a shithole as far as I'm concerned.
Would prefer if they were looking in Muswell Hill or Barnet as I can get off the A1 at South Mimms when visiting
Good luck to them mate. Hopefully her dad is helping out with the deposit. ;)
A keen gardener I see
Nice glass of Pinot on the bench after a hard day's graft there. Idyllic.

Trying me best, she's living rent free with me and her mother in order to save. Tbf between her and her bf i think they are close to 80 grand saved towards it. Wish I'd been that organised at their age

It doesn't stand up to any scrutiny but if you've got daftys willing to pay it then nothing will change.
It is mad. A rule of thumb is that a mortgage shouldn't be more than 4.5 of the household income.
£700k/4.5 = £155k
£155k / 2 = £77.8k

With that being the upper limit you are saying that someone with a household income of £150k would struggle to afford that, or at least have to watch their spending elsewhere. Or a couple, each earning about £78k per year would stretch themselves to live in a house like that.

I just can't get my head around why. Unless something drastically changes on my chosen career path, I'm never going to earn £150k. And that is looking towards the end of my career (about 14 years left). You need someone on £150k fairly early on in their career deciding to pay that to live in a really crap house. It makes no sense at all to me.

I don’t place a premium on living in that area so when I see that property, I look for value for money and I just can’t reconcile how that is worth even half of that asking price.
There isn't a location in the UK that would justify paying 700k for that house imo.
