Rightmove Voyeurism

So I know nowt about Australia, but you’ve posted much better houses previously. Is that in a particularly nice area or something?

Byron bay is a fabulous place to visit , we were there for a wedding last year and really enjoyed it.

@elder should open his biscuit tin and get it spent.

very keen to see how much this one goes for. we couldn't afford it right now but that could change in a couple of years. we'd probably have to give up our sydney home to afford it though, which everyone but me would be furious with.

Am I right thinking wealthy folk from Sydney have holiday homes there ?

I could see that on Homes under the Hammer. Bought by a developer, and his mate. Plan is to rent. Budget of £20k and 6 weeks 😁
I'm sure on one of those podcasts, a local property developer even says, anything you see online has been offered to loads of people before it even gets there. So in other words it's probably not worth the hassle

I love that show. A guilty pleasure. The ‘experts’ are hilarious.

Needs a bit of work

The fact its guide price is £1 screams stay away. unless it’s an architect married to a builder with family in every other trade you’re losing money. I bet if you won the euro millions you could make it incredible but after spending £3m it’ll be worth £2m. It’s the same as Langham Tower for me, it needs a special buyer who doesn’t mind losing money.

The fact it’s grade 2 doesn’t help, I understand why it’s graded but it stops people wanting to start so they just get in a worse state.

Or you get it cheap and there is a ‘mysterious’ fire. Start afresh on a nice plot.

Yes, this will have been offered to loads of people before it's been listed.

Was just showing the link to the boss. We saw a TV show, that we now can’t put our finger on, where the main protagonist lived in that building. We both said at the time we love the building and would live there. Brutally ugly. A bit like me!!!
My desk faces west and we're up high so I can see it for about 11h every day. That said the rest of the view is cracking.

I can't stand barbican. Absolute eyesore
It’s awful, yet I find it fascinating. I think it’s due to the fact that something so big and ugly is hidden away in the centre of a city as good as London, just up the road from St Paul’s and The City. I was mesmerised last time I walked past.

There's a surprising amount of dumps you don't notice dotted around London
