Rightmove Voyeurism

I’d be gutted if I spent £2m on that to live in London
Aaaaaaah. That one. Sorry.

Again the sort of people buying that will have property elsewhere. They won’t be living in it 52 weeks a year.
Which is the problem with the London property markets atm. There’s entire blocks that never have a light turned on in a single flat/appt at night over winter for weeks on end. The cleaners and concierge are the only things moving in the blocks.

It's a bargain.

aaaaaand it's FREEHOLD
Its really not. Way too small, can't really add value to it other than decorate it and despite it being in Covent Garden it's actually down a narrow dingy alley. There are no views at all. All things money folk would require if they were spending millions.

Those with money will pay top price as long as its either got location and by that is it next to equally desirable properties , is it spatial, has it got panaramic views, outdoor balconies etc etc.
This has non and no amount of spending on it will change the fact.

Or if you worked in London and needed to be in once per week, you could buy this place for £2m. It would be around an hour and a half travel in but this is the garden you could be in for the other 4 days per week:

Slumming it down to £1m and another 15-20 minutes on your commute, you could go for:

That would allow you to save £1m for hotels and overnights so if you were going to shows in London you don't need to hurry back.
Outdoor pool - I admire their optimism!

Must cost a bloody fortune to heat that

A house right out of Dickens - in almost every aspect except the price.

2 million great British pounds
Noise, crowded, traffic, pollution, lack of wildlife and nature. Some of the parks are not bad, but are basically a lawn with an artificial lake, giving a bit of green breathing space in an otherwise dirty, smelly concrete hell hole. If you want to do a 10 mile walk or a 40+ mile cycle ride largely free of people and traffic, no chance. Masses of light pollution and everything is very expensive.

If someone came and give me a choice of no change on my mortgage, continue living where I am, with my veg garden, the coast a short walk away, woodland, good quiet cycle routes on my doorstep and farmland just the other side of the road, or spend the next 10 years living in central London in a far more expensive place with no option to sell, I'd stay put.

You can't do culture and entertainment every day. I wouldn't want to use overpriced bars and restaurants every day. It is far better (for me) to live my life somewhere nice, quiet and green, then save museums for trips out. Get in, go to where we want to go and get out, back home to sanity.
This could have been written by me, less the veg garden bit.

We seem to have a very similar view on London

Not Rightmove, but interesting all the same...

Few quid on the reno and you'll have your own castle on a near enough private island.
Was for sale a few years ago but it seems like some on the Island want it renovated and others don't so any plans are a nightmare. A few quid will be millions and probably years of work, it could look incredible when finished though.

This is class. Graveyard in your garden like but love the actual building

I’ve seen a few church conversion but this one looks the best in terms of layout .
However defo will be haunted plus every time it rained I’d be thinking of that scene in the poltergeist where dead bodies start getting washed up

That is pretty well done, but I would not like the big open living room with the high vaulted ceiling.

I do wonder what religious people think about buildings that were a place of worship for centuries becoming a home. Pleased the building is going to be maintained or annoyed because they are no longer churches?

Do the bodies not get removed when the church is no longer consecrated?
Genuine question as I thought I’d read that in the past
