Has anyone heard about a fella called Bruce Ford?
Seems he's a Mackem going through a really tough time - and needs some support.
A friend of a friend is riding with him, so has just sent me a link to his website.
Anyone able to help?

160 miles through the night on minor roads and some of the group arnt cyclists?
Good luck with that mate I think you'll need it :eek:

Not really, I've ridden Glasgow to Sunderland overnight and it's a pretty straightforward road route. Down the A7076 (which is the worst road in Britain btw but does have several 24 hour services), then the B6318 to Newcastle.

Last time I rode it overnight I went via Alston and Middleton in Teesdale mind, much more interesting route.
 
I wouldn't cycle 2.6km to watch Sunderland play. Best of luck to everyone taking part, seems like it's for a great cause.
