Really sad news. Saw him on the last day of the cricket season when CLS CC played Sacriston Academy and was told that he had cancer. Died last night.

Was such a character. My cousin was very close to him. He’ll be absolutely gutted.

Always had a bit crack on when we played against Segga (and kept trying to poach our young 'un to turn out for them). As said above, a massive loss to local cricket.

One of the best marra, did so much for local cricket but also local football in this area. Never met anyone who had a single negative thing to say about him. Always full of crack, always positive, always laughing. Will be a huge miss to Segga and NE grassroots sport.
