ive played cricket now for near 45 years from senior leagues to lower leagues and now back in the durham league been around the doors ,,,, i stopped playing sat cricket 2 years ago really through all the bad stuff that goes on out on the pitch - over the top sledging - ect ect you all know the crack [ not every club ] does it ,,, but hey it drove me away from sats just playing for durham cc seniors in the ecb comp last 2 seasons against lads who some of these today could not tie their shoe lacers fact ,,,,
ok we sledge still but in the right way and we can back it up by our performances over the years [ you dont get picked even at this old mans county standard if you have not been their done it ect ] ,,,
theirs sum good youngans out their who have spirit and flair who can dish it out but in the right way then we have the gobs who talk the talk and when they bat you would think he was holding a walking stick ,,,
you just look and shake your head thats what ive done in the past and walked away from sats but now iam back as skip of a team whos started bad thats not an issue thats cricket its a long season ,,,,,
but would you do the following in cricket [ i have never done this ]
you or an opposition team bowls very well the first session then at tea time end of innings they come off the pitch to be greeted by [ not a living sole ] not one clap of well bowled ect is this cricket we are talking about ,,,,, or you win the toss and bat to be asked by their capt why you batting we are better than you ,,,, or your teams the bast bowling attack we have faced this season but you should be in another league becouse of your batting ,,,, or laugh at a batter whos struggling but hanging in their no matter who he is ,,,,, ive witnessed this in 2 games this season as capt ive bit my lip becouse if i blow i can be a bad lad dont want this in sport but just had to say this on here no names no teams just asking would you stoop so low ok we are poor at the moment as batters me included but hey its cricket and this in the 70s 80s in the senior league would never happen ask any old timer on here [ john s ect ] ok we got stick but unlike todays new breed a little diffrent in another way on and off the pitch called respect for your opposition ,,,, theirs sum canny kids out their i repeat who play the right way but ohh my the gobs are taking over modern day sledging to their level which me i just had to say something ,, win lose or draw in cricket you take whatever it is but ive seen another new side now and before which worries me ,,,, thanks all hutch a lad whos not by all means an angel but plays it right ,,,,
