Odds in the Indy today

Giles - evens
Fleming 12/1
Kirsten 7/1
Arthur 8/1
Ford 7/1
Collingwood 20/1

Kirsten would be a good choice but likely not interested. I honestly think Collingwood would be a great choice

Not for Durham he wouldn't! Heard that Kirsten wants to spend 70% of his time at home in SA so I can't see that happening. Nailed on it's going to be Giles and it's going to be shite. Did he even win anything with Warwickshire?

Won the cc with them.

Looks like a long road ahead for England with him in charge though.

He was just a player poaching Twat.

Laughed my bollocks off when he tapped up Chris Taylor, who then duly signed for Notts.

Mark Robinson or Paul Grayson maybe. An outsider for me would be Graham Welsh but very unlikely.

Giles has said he is very interested in the job and will apply for it.

Jobs for the boys if he gets it.

The sad thing is unless they go overseas and we end up with another Southern African or even worse an Aussie then Giles will get the job. Looking at the 18 counties there is not one head coach who stands out as an outstanding candidate, thats probably why Collys name is being touted to bypass county cricket and go straight into an England coaching position.
If it happens not sure where that leaves Durham if they have burned their bridges with Benks.

When you look at Colly's recent track record it might be worth him applying. Took over the captaincy when Durham were certs for the drop, avoided that and then won the title the next season despite not having an overseas player and having that points deduction.

Then he takes an active coaching role with Scotland and they qualify for the World Cup.

The ECB though will probably say he needs to cut his teeth in the England set up with some other role first.
