Repair shop?

Hi wife got me a Canon EOS 40D last summer 2nd hand from mpb.com, worked great, low shutter count, perfect little camera for me to learn with ( complete novice by the way ) anyway my wife borrowed it and when she got home said theres a problem with the card, said card not formatted for that camera.

Took the card out and it seems 2 pins have been bent over, so is there any local repair shops and would this be a costly job, gutted its happen now was hoping to get back to learning with the better weather on its way.

Live in North tyneside, closer the better as I dont drive ( or close to a metro would be good )

Cheers for that, but its a bit out of my travel range was trying to avoid sending the thing off for a repair, was hoping there was a local pop in drop off set up around the north east.

I just don't think you find walk in ones anymore, he'd be the cheapest

try a syringe needle on the pins - Ive done it before - can be a bit nervy if your hands shake
