So he's a fraud, but you didn't think he'd struggle in the Championship?

Right oh

No. I could get you out of that league without even setting foot in your ground, you merely have to pick an eleven from your expensively assembled championship side.

He literally knows nothing about football, that's why he goes back to his default argument and posts 4 smilies

Still got the win...

After being battered, completely against the run of play

So, if any idiot can get a team promoted from that league with an expensively assembled squad, why couldn't De Matteo? Aston Villa spent as much as Newcastle (without even earning that money from player sales), and look outside bets for the play-offs at best?

Villa already had a far worse side. How much money did Villa spend compared to you?

You can't change teams mid argument, he said YOUR team, not villa ya plum.

c£50m v £54m. Your assertion was that because the team was expensively assembled, any mug could get them promoted.

Yes, you can. Unless you're suggesting Newcastle United are too good for that league and as such aren't restricted by the same criteria as the others? Not sure that would go down well with your fellow Sunderland fans.

I didn't say that. I said YOUR expensively assembled side.

I did not mention Villa or any other club. Villa were in far more trouble than you were.

Still seething. Let it go, marra. Time to calm down

So basically, you're saying that the squad that Rafa Benitez has assembled is too good for the Championship? I mean, if you can pick any eleven players from that squad he assembled and win the league, it's surely too good for that league. If that's the case, doesn't that prove he's capable of, at the very least, attracting and assembling a Championship winning side?

I mean, lets just ignore his record thus far in that league, and of course we ignore his performances at a variety of previous clubs because that renders your position ridiculous, so if we ignore all of that, his ability to build a squad to win that league is a marker of a good manager, no?

Getting cocky about being top of the championship  pure small time.

You already had players like Mitrovic who cost you £12m or whatever it was, you've added another £50m worth of championship players. Any manager worth their salt could get you out of that league. Surely you don't think otherwise?!

He should have been able to get you out of that league without spending any money at all, let alone £50m

You brought the Championship up, not me. I was happy with an away result when we were below par = cocky in your world.

Seeing as he and his £100M squad wasn't up to the task of staying in the Premier League with a whole ten games to play, three of which were against 'shit' sides, then yes, a lot of us did.
We never envisaged that he would have nigh on £40M to spend, either though.

The f***ing tea lady could get a relegated club back up with that, FFS.
