Regis le Bris - confirmed

That's down to us and how we manage our resources. Quite a few out on loan this season if you look at it, we'll be covering at least part of many of those if not all.

They can prove us all wrong by trying to go up. We've not had ambition to get to the prem under these owners. At every stage when they've been tested they've pulled back. It's clear they are happy to be at the top end to get supporters to engage and pay for kit/tickets but they won't give that last push to get us over the line. Year after year since promotion they've written off the season in January.

We'll see re Luton payments next year. They should bounce straight back. Not the first and won't be the last not to bounce straight back to prem. Ipswich stopped relegated teams last year, forest not long before. If you write off promotion before a balls kicked you'll never achieve. Wrexham and Birmingham won't think that way you can bet your life on it.

You can keep throwing insults but I've been proven right much more than not. You may think in negative but I say it as I see it. The player farm model will be exposed. Whether you see it with you head in the sand is up to you.
Why would they want to stay in the Championship to make losses every year? The Premier League is where the money’s at.
Having said that though, the last transfer window was a bit puzzling - really can’t my mind up about these owners atm

may be more to do with poor managerial appointments

Yeah we have had some crap, but would say we had half a dozen decent managers who often inherited a horrible team and were not given no where near enough time to change things.
Heard a fair few calling for RLB’s head which is madness, he should be backed and given time to build and improve on what in reality is a fantastic league position to get to in his first season.

This is a massive long shot,

But can anyone confirm if Le Bris took training on Friday 4th of April? Bizarre question, I know.

If he did, he had to re route back to Birmingham sharpish the same day since we played WBA away on the 5th April.

As if he'd take a train there and back same day before an away game for an interview ffs 🙄 😑 😒 🙃

RLB done a good job and could be on track to be our longest serving manager in over 20 years if he sticks around for another season or so, not many since Reid last 2 full seasons.
Reidy had the best run 1995 too 2002.
anyone see a pattern ??
Sacking managers without giving them time doesn’t work.
Only Bruce since Reid has started and finished 2 full seasons. Only Moyes, Ross and RLB have started and finished 1 full season since Bruce!

Reid was also pretty much in charge of everything the football side. Changing coaches these days doesn’t disrupt anything anywhere near as much.

It’s the Speakman’s that are given 7 years these days.

That's never, ever going to be the case for a non-parachute payment side though.

The 3 teams that finished above us are, in sure everyone will agree, operating on a different planet financially as a result of same.

It is also worth pointing out that the club completely tore to shreds their wage structure to bring Le Fee in, just a few months ago. Yes, it's one player, but they did go above and beyond to get it done and he was obviously RLB's man.

There's quite a bit of revisionism on here lately as I think we were all reasonably happy with our summer window (Browne and Mepham bringing in the experience that was said to be lacking), Salis a player who had proven capable at CL level, Moore an experienced backup to Patterson, Aleksic a very highly rated talent, plus Isidor too.

Was it perfect? No. Could we have done with more? Fans of every club would always say yes.

We absolutely could have done with full back cover (I made a thread about it at the time and it did come home to roost soon after) and the Danns signing was a disaster, but up until our poor run over the last couple of months there wasn't much criticism of our transfer business as a whole.
If I remember correctly there was quite a lot of criticism of the last transfer window at the time, but some of us (me included) were distracted by the club showing ambition by and bringing in Le Fee, and forgot about the glaring deficiencies in the rest of our squad.
If this is the case my concern is what possible motivation has he got to get this team ready for the play offs
Even if he was intending to leave, winning the play-offs looks good on a coach’s CV. Add to that the motivation of leaving the club on a high, and that’s plenty motivation

My point is since Reid we have continued to sack manager’s as soon as things go wrong, or fans are disgruntled weak owners have pulled the trigger, we never really stuck with one and given him the chance to turn things around.
Watford are worse tho they are mental,
but it certainly hasn’t worked for us, so hopefully we can keep RLB for another season see how a bit stability feels like.

If only there were several transfer windows which could be used as evidence of their intentions.

So do you disagree that we needed a GK, CM and a striker then? Did the club not identify that they needed to improve the squad in these positions, and did the club not do that?

Yes or no?
As I said, they were the bare minimum. Anything less would have been a total dereliction of duty.
