Net spend or just spend? Makes one helluva difference.
A team could sell off their first XI for £1bn and replace them for £200m which would still put them top of the spending table. I’m not saying that’s what happened to RLB at Lorient but their best players were systematically sold off.
They had a young big lad upfront at the start of last season who looked superb but last I heard was out on loan at the French equivalent of Halifax or summet for some reason. Doucour or summet, I’d be back in for him if I was Reggie.

He won’t ge making the signings or other traditional “manager” stuff so he can crack on and coach with what looks like his own f***ing staff

My big concern was the breakdown in relations at the club between him and the fans ... sounds like he started to become really difficult

Subplots aplenty ... maybe it's just wasn't a good fit. Where all in the same boat now

He was wanted by Nice before they appointed Farioli, but the Lorient board wanted more compensation than Nice would pay, and blocked it. Then the started flogging the squad off.
