Regis le Bris - confirmed

Putting the relegation to one side. This manager has shown very limited positive evidence. His first season was alright, fell away after a blistering start.

His inability to make the break through to land a head coach role till his mid/late 40s is a cause for concern.
This, of course he might come good and he should be give a chance but his record is not good. There isn’t much other than blind faith to cling on to.

Ok. I’ll bite. One thing about him that struck me was the bit in an article that said:

The Ligue 1 commentator has described Regis Le Bris as a good coach with a speciality of developing young players, but a poor record of transfers.”

Maybe this was the MO. Hiring a coach who is good at developing young talent, perhaps at a continental level, and yet being a coach he won’t be responsible for signing players anyway which is a negative with him. You get the positive without the negative.

Do some research on him. You will see he was actually doing well, 2nd in Ligue 1, beating PSG 3-1 then having his best players sold including his top scorer. Is it any surprise it turned to shit?
You are talking about a purple patch of a few months. And he lost his top scorer and struggled? And you are telling me he is going to work well with Speakman, a man notorious for not providing firepower to the head coach.😂 C'mon

I just find it weird how it's A) Took so long. Like shite was he in our 'Top 5' shortlist 😂

B) We've pursued a manager who's been in the game for 2 year and been relegated in one of them years

How does the 'model' flag up someone like this? Cheap? Yes man? Unaware of how shit Dodds is? No backroom staff to bring? Unaware of the Speakman bullshit?

Hope he smashes it but 4 month to come up with him is mental.

That's fine mate, but hyperbole like 'relegated in 50% of his seasons' isn't necessary.

All appointments are
Really, aren't appointments usually based on performance driven data, as you correctly stated there is very little in his managerial career to go on, one pretty good season and one season that ended in relegation. This looks very 50/50 compared to a manager who for example has a track record of improving teams working with a limited budget. By the way I'm not saying I want him to fail, I wish him every success, but it does seem more of a gamble than some other candidates that we could have appointed.

It’s a terrible sample size to judge him yes. We have to wait and see. Like Rohl, Maresca, Cifuentes and others. Very small sample sizes - see what they do
