Regis le Bris - confirmed

It has already been proved months ago that Fabrizio takes money for posts. In addition to that, where does it say that Dodds won't be part of the coaching staff?

This place is absolutely unreal like.

Take over 120 days to appoint a new manager, get turned down by numerous options, end up appointing a manager at the last minute who coincidentally is part of the same agency that several of our recent French based signings have come from, and yet you still have the usual lemmings queueing up to tell us everything is great.

The club are feeding info such as the above now and are in damage limitation mode. Downie is another example. If he had known about a 5 man shortlist, he would have posted about it weeks ago. Instead, he was fed it today (because there was no 5 man shortlist) to send out to the masses and the club have got exactly the reaction they knew they would, from people too blinded to see the wood from the trees.

I'm sure you'll all lap up the "after an extensive recruitment process, Regis was always our first choice" comment that'll be part of the press release too.
It’s the same how people have said the following
  • He got them their highest ever finish (he didn’t. They’ve finished higher several times in the last 20 years)
  • He had his best players sold. (So did several other managers)
  • He wasn’t backed (they spent £60m in the two seasons he was in charge and had the 8th highest budget)
  • They wouldn’t have been relegated if they didn’t lose Moffi, Le Fee and Ouattara in January 24 (moffi and Ouattara actually left in the season they finished 10th. They left on loan in January 23 and those moves were made permanent in the summer)
Just making stuff up

So for those saying it's the;

Cheap option - we're paying compensation

Have to work with Dodds/Proctor - We're restructuring the coaching staff

Yes man - Fell out woth his last board for selling his best players

You could easily argue all was true, comparatively. No one really knows.

He's just took a side down in France - hardly going to be coveted. Compo will be relatively low as likely will wages.

We have restructured nothing yet and we've no idea of the set up and their continued influence (Dodds and Proctor).

Mowbray appeared to gradually fall out with the people in charge due to our situation. He didn't make a large stand or walk out. He played the press as most managers do. I've no idea what this guy did but he was still manager, so what exactly did he do to be considered a "fall out"?

Maybe the club has had to offer more, make changes etc or maybe its bollocks - were not likely to find out yet.

It doesn’t matter if Dodds is part of the staff it matters if he’s the forced assistant

Spot on. Some people are too thick to see it even though it’s been slapping them in the face for months

I mean 8th to 14th is the definition of mid table. The fact still finished behind le bris in 22/23 is irrelevant because he finished way, way ahead of him in 23/24

Still lost his best players too. They lost ekitike and two of his centre mids.

If he’s got issues with players being sold he’s coming to the wrong club too because he’s likely about to lose a few of his best players here too.
Reims are expected to be midtable that is where they usually finish. Lorient are expected to be around the relegation zone which a fair chance of them getting relegated.

Obviously the club would have preferred Still but this is a solid alternative. People are going on like he’s a new Beale

Not in the mood for a full read. Is this guy rated in France and his record?

At the very least it indicates change is afoot like.

I hope so, but then I've heard it all before - I'm still waiting for the European coach from Reid's last preseason.....

If the guy has any chance of succeeding here he needs people who he trusts around him and maybe also someone who knows the club, the Dan's and its expectations.

I fear Dodds has to much influence and the club have put too much time into him to move him too far out pf the picture for too long.
