Regis le Bris - confirmed

Not as easy as yes or No!

I’d say it a neutral for me. Sounds like a good coach and I’m not too bothered about his record last season. The manager / coach is important but not nearly as important as our recruitment and sales this summer
Yes or no?

Just want your opinion, not speculation of what might be. It’s not a trick question, more a question of whether you think they’re been authentic in their pursuit of progression

HIs record aside, the thing that concerns me is that Speakman etc are supposed to be identifying a style of play and building a squad and coaching team to match it. We've gone from neil, who was quite structured and direct, to mowbray, who took the shackles off them a bit and kept his wingers wide, to beale who played a narrow shape either a diamond or a xmas tree, to le bris who's been playing 3 at the back. Wheres the consistency there. Just gives me even less confidence in the exec group.

Very true. It’s all spin. They’ve absolutely no clue what the plan is atm.

Again it’s context, which lots of people seem to refuse to take into account.

I think there’s a chance Mowbray could have turned it around, like he did during a couple of blips in his first season. However, he may not have and we were going in one direction under him at the end……again, largely because he didn’t have the players he needed and that’s by his own account.

I think losing your best players and not replacing them is a massive factor in many teams having their form go off a cliff.
What do you mean by not replacing them though? Lorient spent a huge amount of money last year by their standards and added some free transfers that looked good on paper. Its not like he got his strikers sold and had to make do with kids or wingers like mowbray got lumbered with. They spent about £60m during his tenure and recouped about £90m. Hardly failing to back him. I wont put the recruitment on him because I dont know how much say he had there and its not relevant here but thats more comparable to what robins or carrick endured last summer as opposed to mowbray.

In any case if we're saying no manager can be judged if the club sells a couple of players in a window then we may as well give up now because thats exactly whats going to happen here. Thats not a dig at this club either, it happens everywhere. Its part of football. Players leave.

I think you’ve got that exactly backwards with Robbins and Mowbray. Coventry brought in Simms and Wright for a pretty big outlay. We signed a few bairns who weren’t up to standard.

I don’t know who they replaced their top three scorers with, but it obviously didn’t work. I don’t think you can blame Mowbray for Hemir not being as good as Ross Stewart, by way of example.

No i havent.' I'm defending mowbray, who wasnt backed, by comparing Le Bris to Robins, who was. Lorient spent a huge amount backing le bris.

We can live in hope but a totally underwhelming appointment. Can’t see anyone honestly saying they are fine with this.
Its all we could find, his backroom staff have fled France, but his medical support is with him,Nurse Ratchid Eeeeeeee my god can things get any worse.

more of a coach who is more known for bringing through youth players - massively failed in previous role - not known for tactical nous. Largely inexperienced.
Not known for tactical nouse? Where has that come from? Everything I’ve seen suggests he gets his teams playing very good football.

All of the coaches we were looking at are known for developing youth, for obvious reasons.

I just don’t see the comparison, and it looks like it’s just a stick to beat him with.
