I'm at a loss how someone with relegation made a supposed shortlist (if you believe the shortlist). When you're looking at drawing up a shortlist how has that conversation went "aye he looks good, relegation instantly on his CV". It's taken around 120 days to get to this stage :lol:

on that basis sam allardyce would never have been appointed by SAFC and Alonso would nevr have been appointed by leverkusen..

Well there are direct quotes from both saying “lessons are to be learnt” from last season.

If we get off to a bad start things will turn toxic very quickly. So here’s hoping this appointment works!

There are some clubs where relegation is a near certainty. Managers can come out of those situations with little reputational damage. Not sure that’s the case here. Got them 10th last year and down this.

I'm guessing you'd never have appointed Klopp. One of the first things he did as a head coach was to get relegated with Mainz.

yes im sure they feel the need to tweak things but they arent changing a 5 year strategic plan

It doesn't look good. I just know nothing about him. Hoping the club has got it right....we'll see.

Let's be honest. If it had been still or another fans favourite we would be calling for his head with 4 or 5 straight defeats. We did it with Mowbray for God's sakes.

Sadly I think a lot of people will just focus on the relegation, and refuse to look at any context, judging him on that alone.

No one has much of a clue about him. I’m going to give him a chance, and focus on the fact that he is supposed to play attractive football.
