Regis le Bris - confirmed

Sit back play mostly around their own box and then try to be direct over the top. Not really possession based and doesn't really use wingers or play much in the final 3rd

Where have you read that? What I’ve read is the total opposite.

‘His style of play seems fluid but generally favours a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 with the number 10 playing close to the striker. He seems to favour overloads on the wings, liking his full backs to be involved in attacks. But beyond that he's willing to change it up depending on the situation. It's not possession for possessions sake. His team will play it long if they see an opportunity and like to switch the play to find players in space. He likes his wingers to dribble. They aim to get them isolated in a 1v1 and then back them to win their dual’

"Young coach, good on the tactical level but more difficult on a human level. "

He's not that young and do we really want another coach who is difficult on a human level ? Wasn't that Beale's biggest problem ?
Beale wasn’t good at the tactical level either though. Sounds more like Alex Neil type if anything.

He was on a 5 man short list = Kyril is quite comfortable telling blatant lies to the fans.
No fucker believes him for one moment so why even say it? Amateurs.
I don’t think it was many more than 5. I don’t think cifuentes and rosenior would’ve been on it.

Keith Downie now saying talks opened weeks ago but the work permit and lorient dragged it out so maybe we moved on and tried to get someone quick in worry it wouldn’t happen hence the likes of rosenior came in

Glad to see he's receiving a warm welcome

Ah here is mr virtue.

Rocky whenever anyone has a go at people accepting anything…

“Fans fault klaxon” “I’m on neither side” “it’s not there fault, everyone’s an allowed an opinion”

Fans question a managerial appointment…

Sarcastic comment questioning their opinion.

Your full of shit pal.

Yep 100% this. Be f***ing honest SAFC I dare you, just once tell the truth.

Saw an article saying he was always on the shortlist of around 5 names since we sacked Beale.
Delay has been caused by Still being the number 1 choice and throwing everything after him only for him to jump ship just as he was boarding the SAFC brigade.
There was also a post on X along with a picture of Still and some England fans presumably a Sunderland fan as well. Apparently asked Still what happened and he said Speakman. No idea if it's true though but that doesn't surprise me.

Underwhelming? Course it is. Would I have picked someone else? Probably. If you don't like the appointment and feel strongly enough to not renew your ST over it (amongst other things) then more power to you. However I just can't fathom the point of being hyper negative about this if you're going to be going to the games. We need a united fanbase to at least give the bloke a chance and get behind the team. If the fan reaction is anything like it was for Beale it's failed befoere it's begun. He was done before he'd taken a game.

It's a new head coach, a new start and it (hopefully) puts an end to the long drawn out saga of having nobody in charge. We can get behind the team and hope this appointment works out a success like Neil and Mowbray. There is no guaranteed success whoever we had appointed so I for one am looking forward to being back in the ground and getting behind the lads again.

No pecking order after Will Still? So just go for any of the 4?
That’s not uncommon is it? They knew will still was what they wanted he was by far number

They then have a list of managers who may be a good fit for SAFC based on numbers, style, career etc

You then interview the candidates and decide on who’s best. That’s how it works in every job in the world ever

To answer the questions before you know nowt about lorient then.

He had the 12th most long balls in the league they certainly weren’t an over the top team 😂
Over the top of the press. It is direct football using pace of attacking players and quick forward passes. Problem being is the conceded a great amount of chances due to this style of play as well, with them losing it so close to their own goal. We were apparently trying to go down the route of high pressing, control possession and work more in the oppositions half. My point is his approach is more the opposite of how we allegedly wanted to play going towards more of a countering approach than a controlling approach
