The list of 5 is a joke as well. Especially as the rest of the season played out. Maybe they mean a list of 5 quickly drawn up after Still turned us down

Saw an article saying he was always on the shortlist of around 5 names since we sacked Beale.
Delay has been caused by Still being the number 1 choice and throwing everything after him only for him to jump ship just as he was boarding the SAFC brigade.
 
Looks to be a far better fit for us and I often wondered how long it would take our French owner to look around France for a new boss.

Hopefully this comes off and he can guide us to at least the top six next season.

That of course is dependant upon speakman and Dreyfus giving the bloke the backing and support he needs.

Well it seems it’s drawing to a close. Know fuck all about him, but let’s see how it goes…

They certainly know how to instantly rub people up with the narrative of being on the short list etc. Read the room, and even if he was, at this point it’s better not to say anything due to the length of time it’s taken!
