Will also be interesting to find out if we pay compensation for him.

He’s under contract at Lorient until 2027 - but has obviously just overseen a relegation, and the French media seemed to have him pencilled in for “showdown” talks with the owner, ahead of possibly getting sacked.

Likely some deal been done, whereby they get no compo from us, but we take over his contract leaving Lorient without an obligation to pay his contract up. Would make financial sense for all parties.

The transfer window was unsuccessful with big egos joining the club (Benjamin Mendy, Tiemoue Bakayoko) and he got angry with his group. He chose to switch to a 3-man defence but it never worked. I think he lacks experience and has had difficulty recognizing his mistakes..."
