Regis le Bris - confirmed

I don’t think it was that bad a stab for a presenter who presumably is reading it for the first time

Even for the first name, the “e” is wrong but if that was better it would be pretty close. Particularly for a non native speaking to an English audience

Yeah but the poster said it should help us with the pronunciation

First appointment you get the impression is Dreyfus driven
Mowbray and Neil were needs must fkr situations we found ourselves in at the time
Beale was sheer panic after not getting still and stunk of speakman
Just get feeling this is type of appointment he’s always wanted and hopefully he supports him accordingly
He’ll be as good as how well he’s backed
Good luck to him

Chairman Kyril Louis-Dreyfus concluded: “I must start by thanking our fans for their patience and support throughout an extensive recruitment process". He clearly hasn't followed the many threads on here.

The thing that grated was completely ignoring the acute accent on the e.
I actually edited my post to pick that specific thing out! I know Régis isn’t English, be there are many words or names we don’t say in their home accent or language.

I suppose I think “Regis le Bree” (said as it were English) is a decent enough stab

Part of a wider and fascinating conversation about translations i’m sure

Well, his first quotes aren't repeatedly saying he's aligned with speakman over and over again so surely already an upgrade on Beale.

I don’t know what the fucknis happening at our club. The fucka has just relegated his club and we appoint him like his reputation is sky high! I think I need to find another hobby!
