Regis Le Bris - Backroom Staff


REGIS Le Bris says efforts to bolster his backroom team are continuing but Sunderland's head coach insists he'd be happy to go forward with the current support staff if the Black Cats can't find the right candidates.

Sunderland have held interviews with candidates but Le Bris, who will have the final say on any appointment, says he won't bring someone in for the sake of it and will only sanction a new arrival if he believes they'll improve or add something different to the current backroom team.

Very poor. Surely there is people he has worked with in France that he’d want with him.

Guy is working with one hand tied behind his back. Any success he has with us will be a remarkable achievement

Surely he knows staff that could work with him, i guess the staff he's worked with previously aren't up to the standard

The vilification of Dodds and Proctor from some has been a little unjust.

I've been guilty of it myself at times when things haven't being going well on the pitch with last season's total collapse.

However, they have good working relationships with the Owner, Sporting Director and are well liked by the players.

The plan has always been that there's continuity throughout the club and an ethos across all age groups of the playing staff.
The Head Coach can change but everything else remains the same.

RLB will have known about the set up and is obviously happy to work under our terms.

They've said he can bring in more backroom staff if they will add value but Dodds and Proctor won't be pushed out.

If RLB hasn't got a preferred trusted Assistant then any potential candidate are coming in cold and will struggle to impress when compared to Dodds and Proctor who by this time he's already built up a relationship with.

If we are to add to our backroom staff it's far more likely to be specialist coach rather than a Number 2.

Dodds and Proctor will be instructed to implement the Head Coaches ideas and may be doing a brilliant job in that role behind the scenes.

They've stepped in and held the fort during difficult times at the club with the sackings of Mowbray and then Beale.

Yes they were out of their depth and not cut out for the top job but they're have always conducted themselves well and shown the club and fans the respect they deserves.

Maybe they deserve a break?

People aren’t ignoring the report. Plenty on here feared that despite the horror show presided over by Dodds and Proctor from February onwards - they’d be handed a significant role in first team coaching again this season, and it seems they have !

Have people such short memories that the performances from February onwards have been erased completely ? The times Dodds looked hopelessly out if his depth? The ‘silent treatment’ experiment etc etc

I bet the players all hoped for a fresh approach and were over the moon when they were told Mr Silent Treatment is back !

He literally came out himself and says he didn’t want anyone as he inherited staff at lorient and he doesn’t want them here
