Really minor annoyances

in fact does my head in that much sometimes i just stop reading the forum for a bit
 

The redheaded lass on the Sainsbury's advert. Newly harvested carrots, turnips and other assorted fruit and veg do not grow with barcodes, so why are you scanning them, you dozy bugger?

No surprise that people use ad blockers to get rid of such intrusiveness.

Yep. Embedded between posts, fine, it generates income for RTG and this site does not run for free. But when it gets in the way of what you are doing on a small screen, then it becomes intrusive.

I often stick the subtitles on as it's amazing how much dialogue that is actually impossible to hear is included in the subtitles.
 
How the barcode is on the last side when you're scanning in a supermarket. And why is the barcode always under the wrapper when you scan a block of cheese.

Subtitles annoy me. It was one of the reasons I give up watching Dune.

LOUD BLASTING DRAMATIC MUSIC and now lets whisper and mumble so they turn the volume right up. LOUD AGAIN.

I spent the first half of the film not being able to hear or having my speakers vibrate. I was sitting with the remote turning it up and down constantly. I put subtitles on, but find I read them ahead of the 'action' and stop associating speech with individuals. I stopped actually watching the film and just focussed on reading the subtitle bar at the bottom.

The thin slice is rendered obsolete, and the adjacent slice is severely compromised too. Is it a crust? Is it a standard slice? It is both, yet neither.

As an introduction to a new loaf bread, it creates a dire first impression. And it happens very frequently of late. Time was that the term 'sliced bread' was synonymous with innovation. Today, it risks becoming a by-word for falling standards and sneering false promises.

On a similar theme

The thinnest sliced bread you can get seems to be "Medium"

Then its Thick, Toasty, Super Toasty

Why not start at "Thin"

There's quite a few films at TV shows that I can't watch or stopped watching cos of this exact reason.

I'm sure someone in the know might be able to tell us why they do it, or if it's just because I'm listening through standard TV speakers and not some fancy sound bar

Latest one was SnowPiercer , daft switch-your-brain-off series that someone recommended, couldn't get past the first episode as they dialogue was just incoherent mumbling and I refuse to have the TV blasting on a Sunday night
