Gor Blimey Mary Poppins!
Bring of a particular generation I pronounce the letter ‘H’ as ‘aitch’
It’s a minor irritation to me when people pronounce it ‘haitch’.
I STILL find my brain being momentarily surprised at that pronunciation. It’s so ingrained.
Ditto with posting pics.People starting threads with the name of somebody in it but they don't explain who it is so you've got to google who they are to see if you're interested.
Who is Vernon Kay?Radio DJs irritate me when they know bugger all about the music they’re playing or the history or background of pop/rock music they’re playing.
I realise that a lot of radio DJs have virtually no interest and are only there/interested in ‘broadcasting’ or ‘banter’ or ‘chat’ etc., but I suppose I’m from a generation - or maybe it’s just a personal expectation - that supposed the people playing you the music would be able to tell you something about it, or the people making it. I suppose that comes from the pre-internet days when there was only TOTP (or later OGWT) so there was only the music mags or radio to introduce you to stuff.
The other day Vernon Kay was asking a quiz question, the answer to which was ‘Robbie Robertson’. Neither contestant, nor he, had ever heard of him. I was annoyed by this.
Who is Vernon Kay?
Ketchup = ‘Catsup’ - WTF?When you're abroad and the takeaways say kebap.
Wooden lights?Bought some wooden sensor stair lights, attached them to the stairs, went up and down the stairs a few times-no light.
I thought "have they got a little tab to pull out so the battery works?"....no tab.
Started prodding at them aggressively, thinking they were useless shite, pulled one off, twisted the back off and badaaaa.......they take 3 f***ing AAA batteries each light which weren't supplied![]()

Wooden work.Wooden lights?
Theyre for the blind spot mate. The bit you cant see in the mirror that bad drivers dont check before pulling out.those scrolling indicators on cars.
those little amber/red lights on car mirrors to tell the driver they're close to something. that's what the mirrors are for ffs. if they're not seeing things in the mirror they're not likely to see a titchy symbol in it.
when you're messing around with the bike, a bolt drops down and you can't find it and you just know it'll drop out when you're on the road and go into the back tyre.
Aye ......Wooden lights?

Lights were £14.99, batteries were £9.90 for 20 energizers (could've got cheapos but thought I'd go for better ones and I'd still have 5 left for chrimbo or anything else that needs AAA batteries).Batteries more than the lights?
