Bands doing encores.
Ok maybe theres a case for a huge band in a stadium tour doing it for thousands of fans. But is there anything more pointless than a band in a small venue doing them.
"This is our last song". They play it and go off stage. The lights stay down. Everyone looks at their watch knowing the place is still open for another 45 minutes. No one leaves.
Someone gets on the mic. "Did you enjoy that?" Everyone cheers "do you want more"
Band comes on and plays their best known/most popular songs. The ones everyone was at the gig to hear.
Everyone knows they're coming back out, the band has a set list that includes the encore... so why not just play through? This whole charade of them being finished for the night is totally pointless.
Just once I want the majority of people to leave after the "last song" so when they come back theres hardly anyone there
