Really minor annoyances

the a1231 roundabout going south onto the a19 is terrible for it. if i can keep 60 foot of artic between the lines surely cars can do the same
This is both unusual and commendable though. On the slip road coming from southbound on to the A1231, I'm frequently stuck behind lorries straddling the middle lane and the lane in whichever way they are going, and usually most of the way around. I hang back and give them the width as I just assume they need it ( and I don't want to be crushed).

The missus is the same. "I'm so tired, off to bed now..." she'll say. 45 mins later still slumped on the sofa staring at f***ing TikTok.
We often watch something with our daughter between 9 and 10, then she goes off to bed. My wife wakes up really early and is often dozing by then. That feels too early for me so I'll sometimes put someting I want to watch by myself on.

My wife used to ask if I could wait until they have gone up before I put it on (no idea why, not like I'm watching offensive things), but then sit on her phone or just dozing for 20 minutes or more, meanwhile I'm just stuck in limbo waiting to press play. Now I just stick it on and ignore them.

I'm putting this here cos I need to vent but it's not a minor annoyance. Agreed a deal on Bay for a nice piece of kit, I suspect reluctantly on the part of the seller as it had been relisted twice so I gave him a decent offer below his asking price, which was accepted & paid for. Contacted him yesterday as it hadn't been despatched & I've now received a refund due to the item being "damaged/out of stock" which I suspect is bollix, he's just sold it for a better price.

I get that it's his prerogative but a lawful transaction had been carried out, he's going to get proper vitriol on his "feedback". First "pulled your trousers down" incident & I've bought & sold loads on there.

Should've realised when his location was given as The Wirral, thieving Scouse 🤬

Had exactly the same thing. Bought the bairn a hornby model. I won the auction, and got it for a bargain.

Paid and settled, probably £40 cheaper than anywhere else.

Message received.
"Sorry mate. Gone to package it and it's damaged. Refund issued"

Three weeks later I won the auction when he relisted it with exactly the same pics
A few quid more than the first time.

Sent him a message asking if I could pay what I paid the first time I won it.

Refund issued

I don't see how he's thieved you. I'd be disappointed but I'd not blame him.

The Wirral isn't Scouse btw. It's Merseyside but the other side.

Not going to fall out with you but as far as I'm concerned I had bought the item, money changed hands, left my account into his. I think he's changed his mind and/or had a better offer then lied as to why he's cancelled & refunded. Technically, upon agreed sale & money changing hands, that item belonged to me...

Was that the SAFC train?

Thankfully I have only had good experiences with private sellers so far. My big eBay annoyance is the number of foreign sellers falsely claiming their items were in the UK. I posted a few weeks back about someone who said the item was coming from Gateshead, but had to go through the Evri international hub for customs clearance on the way to Kent. I left a negative review and they contacted me a lot begging me to change it while trying to tell me it had not come from abroad, as if I'm some sort of an idiot.

I filed a complaint with eBay about incorrect location and their AI came back and said no offence, but click here if you disagree and want a human to assess. I clicked it and it went to the AI again, which as you would expect, give the same answer again.

These sellers always have what look like randomly generated names putting two words together, and list items multiple times. If I search now for " ", I get blueperfume, sweetsummer, east.lake, flowersalways, etc. All identical pictures and they get away with listing it multiple times by having random characters on the end of the description. It spams listings. It was rulerpark I bought from. They have disappeared but what do you know, flowersalways is in Gateshead too. The others are listed as London, but any London sellers always use the area of London. Except when you go to the seller and hit About, all say China.

eBay don't seem interested in stopping this. I have had some things take weeks to arrive when the page says 3-5 days. One seller did give their address as a farm in Kent, but looking on street view, that was clearly a faked address.

I gave up using eBay, so many scammers and tossers on there. An example - I used to buy and sell vinyl on there and i once sold 2 x Thee Mighty Caesars albums from my own collection to a bloke in Germany. They were not mint or EX condition, I uploaded pics to show the creased sleeves and minor surface scratching (records did not jump) and made it clear they were well listened to and not perfect. Guy buys em both, I send them out in proper mailers with card reinforcing inserts and as soon as he gets them he opens a dispute saying they were not fit for purpose and sics eBay on me, who side with him and claw his money back from my account and give it back to him. I never got the records back, but eBay didn't give a fuck.

It is difficult, I have found some tools, fixings and electrical components, I can't get anywhere else other than eBay. Perhaps I need to try harder, but I end up shopping there for convenience. I also picked up a bargain treadmill. I mostly find the scammers are eBay businesses rather than individuals. I don't post abroad if I'm selling though.

eBay should have only refunded if you got the records back. Too easy to scam people that way.

Little men with big dogs

One went for me earlier with a massive wrestle between dog and puny man. Wouldn't have stood a chance

The dog looked nasty too
