Re Europe

How many teams can qualify for European places some saying up to 9th if certain results happen
Our best hope is Man City or Chelsea (assuming they finish in the top 6) win the FA Cup then down to 7th place in the league qualify for Europe.

After that if Villa win the Europa League and finish 6th that would mean 8 clubs would get in Europe. 6 Champions League again and one each in Europa and Conference Leagues.

Villa finish top 5 I expect

I heard / read somewhere that if Villa if finish 5th and win the Europa we get an extra spot too but it doesn't make much sense?

A lot of these contrived extra spots go directly to the teams involved so wouldn't effect us. Leeds winning the FA Cup, Forest and Palace winning as they wouldn't qualify twice like Man City (won league cup).

If Villa win the Europa and finish fifth and Liverpool win the Champions League and finish sixth, then 7th qualifies for Champions League.

There’s an unlikely scenario where 11 English teams are in Europe next season
So when we beat Villa next week, Liverpool beat Everton and United beat Chelsea, we’ll be in a Champions League spot because Villa will be fifth and go on to win the Europa with Emery at the helm. Easy

Beating Villa next week will help us

Watched a vlog last week where the lads on it were saying possibly 11th could get u in to Europe with certain criteria.

No way AV not in top 5 sadly

Are you not a place off there? We’re guaranteed 5 Champions League spots now, cos of English performances in the competition this year? So 7 for the league (5 champions league & a Europa & conference league spot). Then if someone already qualifying for Europe wins the fa cup, it’ll go down to 8th?

We want a Chelsea Man City FA Cup final.

Chelsea making up 7 points on Villa in 6 games would be a big swing, so I’m ignoring that.

Thats how I’ve read it anyway but my brain is scrambled by it now.

Aye you're right.

I'm choosing to ignore the scenarios of teams winning European competitions and how it effects qualifiers through the league. It's too complex.

Just 8th place and a Chelsea/Man City FA Cup win does the job.

No, if Liverpool or Arsenal finish top 4 we don't get an extra spot.

There’s an incredibly unlikely set of events where 11th place gets conference league with city winning the fa cup, Villa and Liverpool finishing 6th and 7th winning the CL and Europa league, and palace win the conference league and finish 10th or better.

Most likely is that Villa finish top 5 anyway, Liverpool gets knocked out so 8th gets conference league and then maybe palace win the other thing and get Europe finish around 13th.

First line literally says if Liverpool finish 6th 😂😂
