Re-arranging deckchairs on the Titanic for the 3rd test

Harsh on Buttler that. Looked good in the first innings of the first Test, and a superb effort last night imo
His keeping was poor a couple of good catches masked the horror display, yes he batted for ages but again didnt produce a result, when was the last time at test level his performance won us a game. He's my favourite england player but he's also not a test player and doesn't get enough big scores
If we going to play a spinner might as well pick Parkinson.

Leach or Bess will never be the answer imo
He's been sent home so isn't an option

Just been reading that Mahmood is being considered for a call up along with a couple of others currently in the Big Bash. The article mentioned Vince, Duckett and Billings as being under consideration

If a criteria for playing for England was scoring enough big scores then we couldn’t put a team out.

Sorry, I don't get how you say pick for the future, then advocate dropping Pope altogether?

I'll give anyone credit where it's due, and I like Jos. As much as I think Foakes is the better WK, to drop him now would be absurd, as well as incredibly harsh

he is unselectable at the minute

I wouldn’t touch Duckett but Billings wouldn’t be worse than Pope or Lawrence at 6 IMO.
Bairstow at 6 for me, but he’s been messed about so much I can’t see him ever getting back to any sort of form, let alone the form of 2016.

I’d also be happy with him at 7 and keeping, but what that means for Buttler, I don’t know.
I'd have had Mahmood in the initial squad, I wouldn't have had all 3 of Broad, Anderson and Woakes.
I’d have had all four in the squad, but no more than any two of the last three playing at any one time.

Mahmood looks like an obvious candidate to rotate with Wood to me.
