Random Wonderful Moments In Cricket

Michael Holding's over to Geoffrey Boycott in the Bridgetown Test in 1981. The first over of the innings. It was fast. He cleaned bowled Boycott with the last ball of the over. I wish I had been there

The last two days of the 1981 Headingley test still stick in my mind as if it was yesterday. Just about beaten, Ladbroke offering 500/1, Botham and Dilley decided to thrash it around. Believe it or not Dilley was actually outscoring Beefy at one point.

At stumps Beefy said another 50 runs next day would make it interesting. They got four. Afterwards Beefy would say "That made it more interesting ".

Bob Willis with knackered knees kept running in like a man possessed and ripped through the Aussies with 8/43.

The best game I ever saw.
Maybe check the definition of 'moment'.;)

Aye I did think that when I posted it but I suppose any series of events in those last two days could qualify individually.
I'll narrow it down for you. I was playing an inter-school cricket game while the 1981 game was going on. I was wicketkeeping and we kept getting snippets of information that Willis was ripping through Australia. At the point of the tenth wicket, everyone attending our game went nuts and ran on to the pitch screaming and shouting. Teachers included.

1999 World Cup semi final sticks in my mind and the drama of the last over.

Australia only scored 213 iirc and South Africa were fifty odd for none managed to lose.

Think they needed 9 of the last over and Klusner smashed first two balls for four.

Yet with still 4 balls to go him and Donald panicked ended up at same end with 4th ball of the over ran out and all out Aussies through to final

Hell of a game
