Rafael Benítez

What I like is that newcastle followed the sunderland model. Appointed a different manager two games before derby in the hope of reenergising the team. Only difference is this said manager failed, didnt win the derby and got them relegated. Make it worse they are building their club success around him.

Anybody actually think that appointing Benitez will go against them. This is not La Ligue, this is not the Premiership and like Mark Lawrenson said on 5 Live tonight, its a different ball game when people are actually allowed to challenge....Not a single one of them could be arsed in the most prestigious and high profile league in the world, how will they react to Burton Albion away on some shitty November evening, when its -3C outside, belting down with rain and Thuggy McThugpants is trying break your leg? He will literally need to sell the entire squad and start again if they are gonna get promoted :lol::lol:

May 2017 ........... Newcastle may, or not, be celebrating starting off again in the Premier League as they did in 2010.

Since 2010 they've actually gone backwards despite vast amounts of money being spent.

Many current players need to be sold or want away, others will have to be persuaded to take a chance on joining.

This will be a long hard slog for Newcastle while the likes of Burnley, Boro and Sunderland are playing in the top division.

Whatever may happen next year, or in 2 years, the fact is that Newcastle United are in the 2nd division.

They had a solid core that was perfect for the Championship last time round in Nolan, Barton and Carrol, with a decent and underrated manager in Chris Hughton who has proven to be more than competent at that level. This time they don't have that, they have a shit and spineless group of players and a fat, Spanish waiter who has become accustomed to spending big cash on players and managing some of the worlds premier primadonas.

would much rather be where we are and with Sam than in their position with him.
I would probably be more concerned if they had Pearson in charge because he would be able to get them up with a better VFM squad

I think he will get them up. To be honest if he doesn't then he has failed. But, the way they are going on you'd think they appointed the second coming of Christ

This. If pdc or dick had done the job the waiter did we would have wanted them oot cos they had failed. That lot need a messiah and after shearer, carver and sir bobbys ghost fatboy has just taken it on. They needed a steve bruce or pearon type appointment but their arrogance wouldnt accept that. Despite all of their bile against ashley he has always given them what they wanted. Hopefully this will fail too.

He's a busted flush nowadays but you can't blame him and his agent for squeezing as much out of the desperate Ashley as he can.Benitez has nothing to lose except more credibility when it all goes pear shaped.
