I came across this article which, imho, makes for an interesting read.
Rafa Benitez's Newcastle future: A warning from Alan Shearer - but why this can be different to 2009

To me this has to be the biggest test this summer.
Rafa is stalling he ain't daft and can't lose. He signs the mags worship him, he leaves and the fans turn on agent mike.
The squad they have will hate championship football. I dare say Judas will be the only one for fight. The rest will hate going to places mid week in the rain and expecting to fight.
A lot of that squad will be looking to leave and they will be looking to sign over priced championship shite.
It's a case of as well who stays and who goes.
The longer rafa stalls the further turmoil they will be in. See our pre season as an example.
Think Colback's one of the last players you'd want to rely on in a battle, he's always been a total coward of a player.
Aye he looks a very good prospect to be fair.This.
I've been impressed with that lad Lascelles. We should put in a cheeky bid and bully the lower league team![]()
Meh, he had his best games for us against the Mags. I think we've went over the top with how shit he was. Yes he doesn't go forward much & yes, he sometimes went missing, but i wouldn't say he was a bad player, just not very good. I remember saying when he went I'd have kept him as a squad player, coming in at centre mid & left back when needed. However if he was going to be in the first 11 it's best he goes.Think Colback's one of the last players you'd want to rely on in a battle, he's always been a total coward of a player.
They've hoyed all their eggs in on basket as a set of fans now. "I'd rather be in the Championship with Raga than the Prem with Allardyce". He leaves they've got nowt left.still dunno what i want more
him to stay and watch the dream become a potential nightmare
or
him walking and watch toonageddon as the club tears itself apart under a manager facing the post benitez comparisons

its risky... many dont seem to comprehend that rafa gaurentees nothing, including stayingThey've hoyed all their eggs in on basket as a set of fans now. "I'd rather be in the Championship with Raga than the Prem with Allardyce". He leaves they've got nowt left.
Both could potentially be hilarious. I genuinely think he'll be their "McEnemeny"...
He's probably waiting to see if he gets a call back for Toy Story 4to be fair to Rafa, he's said once he's filmed these last three Go Compare ads then he'll turn his full attention back to NUFc
Go Down&Despair more like itto be fair to Rafa, he's said once he's filmed these last three Go Compare ads then he'll turn his full attention back to NUFc
