I've come into this discussion to late but my god it still looks like the mags are in meltdown, can't be pleased these mags like. They are keeping Rafa even though they got relegated what more do they want? They've been beaten by us just accept it man and move on to fight another day.

Once the parachute payments end the TV revenue wouldn't even cover his salary. He better get them back up sharpish or they'll be fucked.

I never realised how big the gulf is, premier teams next year will average around 120 million, championship 2.5 million
Nee the wonder the mags are losing the f***ing plot

25m each season for three seasons innit ??

Made some good signings, but also made a lot of mistakes. spent a fortune as well, which he won't get next season.

How do you even quantify something like that? A city with two (or more if you consider the wider conurbation) clubs, one of which is one of the most successful clubs in England, is not a football city? Reeto mate - you're talking out of your arse.
I'm not mate, spent many years working down there. You are welcome to disagree but it's true

You'd think they've got Sir Alex out of retirement the way a lot of them are going on.

Made some good signings from Spain for decent money (£6m+)

Clearly knows the Spanish market, but of what quality will be be able to bring to the Championship?

His signings on lower level English players don't look too clever mind. Hope Newcastle have some decent scouts ahead of the Championship

Get the feeling a lot of mags are thinking if he stays it'll be easy next season and they'll come straight back. I really hope it goes tits up and he struggles in the championship

Bouncing straight back in nowhere near as easy as Newcastle supporters seem to think. Giving Benitez the reins means nothing.

The most important thing that they get a core of 6 or 7 British players that know the league and want to do the club a favour. You can hang on to all the talent that they currently have, but what does it mean really if they aren't up for a scrap? Who in that squad is primed for a fight in the second tier?

So, they're faced with a massive turnover of players, which often goes badly.

On top of that you've got squads and fans of teams that have never played at places like St James treating the Newcastle fixture as their most important game of the season.

I'm going to be sat as an interested spectator viewing how they operate this summer, with or without Benitez. There's no perfect formula for promotion, but what I do know is that those players they have there now do not have the bottle for playing twice a week away at some of the places they'll have to go next season.

Any team that has put up the slightest of fight against a Rafa mag side has come away with at least a point. Championship sides will be in full on fight mode against them every game next season.

They will not be promoted with Rafa as manager next season.

Byookmerk the ferk out erv this.
