Rafa to Celtic?

Celtic link appearing in the week he's in discussions about his Mag future, gosh what an incredible coincidence.
All part of the Benitez grand plan ! More astute at his personal agenda than his football management. They'll make a statue of him soon despite his utter lack of success it's the Mag's way !

Whilst Champions League football and a guaranteed title every season is appealing, there is no way he'll take a masive cut in wages. Celtic couldn't get anywhere near the £6m or so a year he's on and Lord knows, it's all about the money for "Rafa"

Could be a springboard into something better though, he is wasting away at Newcastle and not going anywhere fast or soon, his stock is falling fast. Looking like another job he has had and is failing badly at with them up the road, being this reputed Wurld Class Manager like

Cant see it happening, but there could be reasons to.

It's class how loads make on they think Benitez is a poor manager but are absolutely desperate for him to leave the mags.

Yes to see the meltdowns. Couldn't give 2 fucks if he stays as he is pulling up no trees whilst there and fighting relegation each year with real possibilities of going down again (only saved by some f***ing really bad teams this year).

Anyone who thinks he's not a good manager is utterly deluded. They've got a good balance though, and I think their fans are stupid enough to demand that Ashley give Rafa the spending power to buy a few more Almirons. Will be funny when all that comes to fruition and the consequences become apparent.

His transfer record is not great. He has said he wants CL football, he's never getting that there, so Celtic isn't totally out of the question is it?

Dunno. European footy would be guaranteed for him, there, mate;)

I'd say it is. They simply can't afford him

He might well take it on a lower salary to help re-establish his reputation.

Loves the Celtic fans does McBenitez.
Him and Gerrard don't particularly like each other. He might want to go and take the piss out of him

He should think about moving
Fans turn on managers after three or four seasons unless they're bringing constant success.
Whilst Ashley is there he can't fail. He'd be mad to walk away from the mags imo

I don’t think he’s particularly good - the bottom half of the prem is absolutely dog shit due to the disparate spread of wealth and you have to exceptionally dog shit to manage to get relegated (Brighton were pump and stayed up) - but the mass implosion on Tyneside would be great fun to watch

Celtic have an over exaggerated opinion of where they are in the pecking order. Their last manager couldn’t get out of their quick enough to run back to England, there’s absolutely no chance Rafa will fancy rocking up at Fir Park on a Wednesday night in front of 3000.

Why would he gan from the English Premier to a pub league club?
The chance of adding more silverware to his name, which is never going to happen at the carbuncle.

He'll have earned enough over his career than he won't struggle to put food on his (exceptionally large) plate.

Aye good point if its silverware he is after.
Thought his contract with mags was up anyway?
